Legacy, Placed Gently on My Bed

Legacy, Placed Gently on My Bed

There’s something about Easter that always brings me back to my mother.

Before I even understood fashion… before I knew what confidence or femininity meant… she was teaching me through the smallest, most intentional details.

Every Easter morning, I would wake up to a dress laid carefully across my bed. A little Martha miniature dress—soft, feminine, and full of charm—with a bow tucked just underneath, and the tiniest bell that would gently jingle when I walked. There were lace socks, white patent shoes, a delicate headband, and always a slip placed perfectly beneath it all. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was accidental. It was love… expressed through clothing.

At the time, I didn’t realize what she was really giving me.

It wasn’t just a dress.

It was a feeling.
It was identity.
It was the quiet understanding that how we present ourselves matters—not because of the world, but because of how it makes us feel within it.

Now, as a mother… and as a designer… I see it so clearly.

Clothing becomes part of our story. It holds memories. It carries emotion. It connects generations of women in a way that words sometimes cannot.

My mission has never just been about creating beautiful pieces. It’s about creating those moments. The ones where a daughter feels seen. Where a mother passes something down—whether it’s a dress, a tradition, or simply a feeling of being cherished.

Because one day, she will remember.

She’ll remember how it felt to walk into a room wearing something chosen with love.
She’ll remember the care, the intention, the quiet magic of it all.

And maybe… she’ll carry that forward too.

This Easter, I’m reminded that what we give isn’t just to our daughters… but also to ourselves.

It’s legacy.
It’s love.
It’s the fabric of our becoming.

And now, in the most full-circle way… I get to give my Mom one of my dresses.

Happy Easter,
Robin
